Sadly, we received a phone call today from Jean Lee to inform us that her husband Jim passed away last Wednesday (15th January) after a short illness.
Jim & Jean joined the club in 1993 and were regular ralliers, mainly in the north as they lived in Stockport at the time, but they travelled further afield on holiday rallies both at home and abroad. They were always fun to be with on rallies and many ralliers will have happy memories of those times.
They reluctantly had to give up caravanning when Jim had to relinquish his driving licence due to medical issues, and at that point became Honorary Life Members. They then moved to live in Leicester to be near their son. Jim used to enjoy a short walk to the local pub to have a pint with him and Jean was happy to stay at home as her mobility had deteriorated.
Val and I often visited them when in the area. They were a lovely friendly couple and it was always a pleasure to visit them and I know that they really appreciated our visits.
Our thoughts are with Jean, her daughter and all the family at this difficult time.
RIP Jim it was a pleasure to have known you.
