Please note that the 2023 Rally Books currently in the post, do not have the correct address listed for the Treasurer. The correct address is shown on the GENERAL INFO page in the INFORMATION FOR RALLY MARSHAL’S section and also on the Rally Accounts Sheet (July 22).
The address has been corrected in the online version of the Rally Book which will be available to renewed members from January.

Occasionally club related emails are received on mine or Val Brailsford’s personal email addresses. If you have sent any email to those addresses anytime between last Thursday 8th and Wednesday 14th, we have not and will not receive it. Please kindly resend it now.
We have had a major issues with our domain name host which are now fully resolved.
This has not affected any swift-owners-club.com email accounts such as Webmaster, President and Facebook.

The new 2023 Rally book has been taken to the post office today for all members who have renewed. Please allow up to 10 days for delivery.

I was very sad to hear that long-standing member Mavis Vizard passed away suddenly yesterday.
Mavis along with her husband Norman joined the SOC in 1990 and were regular ralliers for many years in the early days, particularly in the NW area where they lived at the time. In more recent years they have only attended a few rallies due to family commitments.
Mavis will be greatly missed by many of our members who have rallied with her.
Our thoughts are with Norman and her family at this sad time.
I will pass on any further information I receive here in the Members’ News.

Peter’s funeral will take place at South Leicestershire Crematorium, Foston Road, Countesthorpe, Leicester, LE8 5QP on Tuesday 6th December at 2pm.

There is parking available at the Crematorium.
Members were notified in the Autumn 2022 Going Places that the AGM rally for 2023 had been rearranged for 4th to 8th May 2023. However the Government has announced that Saturday 6th May would be the date for the Coronation of King Charles. The Committee considered the potential impact of this major national event and decided not to hold the AGM rally on that weekend as it would clash with the Coronation celebrations.
Due to these recent decisions it has been difficult to secure new dates and a suitable venue for the AGM rally. However it has now been arranged for the rally to be held from Thursday 12th October to Monday 16th October 2023 at the Ukraine Centre, Weston on Trent, Derbyshire. Outline details will be included in the 2023 rally book with additional information and booking arrangements published on the SOC website, in Going Places and our Facebook page.
