Relax at Ripton

Abbots Ripton, Cambs

19th - 21st September 2008

Summer came to glorious Ripton and we all relaxed in the sunshine it was a  lovely surprise for a September rally.  It was a delightful spot at the village hall near Abbots Ripton, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.  We were in a large green field surrounded by trees with a cricket pitch in the middle, very peaceful and quiet. There was also hard standing - a large area covered in pebbles and a lovely wooden village hall that we had the use of all the time.  All this and the fee for 2 nights was £9 including electrics.

On Saturday night we had an American Supper and a spot the celebrity photograph quiz.  The supper was excellent with a good selection of different dishes and deserts and our resident DG Tony Hawkins provided the music. We had flag on Saturday night so on Sunday morning we all sat outside in the sun for tea and coffee.

We went out for a drive round the area and it was so quiet and peaceful.  Martin went to see the Raptor Centre and saw a display of birds of prey.

Thank you to Jan and Nigel Burgess-White and their daughter Jenny for marshalling such a lovely rally.
