Track Tests at Turnpike

Turnpike Farm, Biggleswade, Beds

9th - 13th October 2008

The sun came out and it was summer during the day but did get cold at night and mother nature gave a blaze of autumn colours with the leaves on the trees.

Ron and Maureen bought the big party tent and Tony Hawkins bought a gas heater to keep us warm in the evenings. On Friday most of us went to the near by Matalan the big clothing and general super store with very reasonable prices. Also not far away was a big farm and food store which sold everything from horses tackle and food and equipment for all the animal needs as well as humans.

On Saturday it was the track tests which were run by the famous team of Horns and Hopkins it was a lovely sunny day and great fun was had by all. The ladies did very well.

On Saturday night we celebrated our 250th rally and Ron gave brilliant presentation and presented us with a Silver Salver. We provided cake and wine and it was a lovely evening with friends in the party tent.

On Monday morning those of us still there helped to take the tent down. It was a lovely rally and one to remember. A big thank you to our hard working marshals Ron and Maureen Ward and Keith and Val Turner .
