Rally 37: ACCEO’S 40th Anniversary Rally, Tamworth 4th – 9th October

If you intend to join the ACCEO rally at the beginning of October  (Page 62 in the Rally book) would you send me your booking now and certainly no later than 1st August, after which I will be away.

If you are still to pay by BACs would you also send the payment to the Association of Caravanning and Camping Exempted Organisations by the beginning of August. This will allow the Finance Officer and the Burstner Club time to get their planning done for what will be a big rally.

Appointment of Trustee

As you may know one of our Trustees David Spall has stood down after many years in the position due to health issues.

The Club has previously appointed four Trustees for the Club in accordance with the Club’s Constitution section 12

So accordingly, the Committee as it’s duty requested nominations to be put forward to fill the vacant position. This was done and from those put forward to the Committee a vote was taken to  appoint.  Joan Howard was selected by a majority vote and has accepted the position, which is subject to ratification at the Club’s Annual General Meeting in October. A letter has been written by the Secretary to inform the new Trustee and a letter sent to the other applicants accordingly.

We look forward to Joan joining the Trustees and wish her well in the role.

Message from David Hopkins Jnr

I would like to thank our members for the kind words in cards and messages, and the presence at Dad’s funeral last Monday. My mum (Vonnie) was overwhelmed with the large turn out from the caravan community, particularly when she hasn’t had chance to get the van out in the last year due to Dads health, from friends old (that she hasn’t seen in years) and new, it means a lot to all the family. Whilst her ‘van has gone, I have said I will host her in our ‘van when she feels up to getting out and about.

Rally 27: Relaxing at Ferry Meadows, 25th – 31st July – NOW EXTENDED

Please note that it has now been possible to extend this Rally to close on 2nd August. This will now mean that for those already booked on to Rally 29 at Ludham there will be no need to find two nights extra accommodation.

There are still some vacancies on both Rallies for those who may wish to book.

Remembrance at Duxford – a Possibility

Members will be aware that in the past we have had two Rallies in November, ie Remembrance at Duxford following on to Kings Lynn for the Sandringham Craft Fair and Thursford Christmas Spectacular. The Duxford Rally has not been included this year but we have had requests to reinstate it to make the journey more worthwhile. We are able to do this subject to sufficient interest due to the cost of the Hall at Fowlmere.

If any member is interested please contact us as soon as possible.

There are also spaces at Kings Lynn and tickets available for the Thursford Spectacular which only require a £5.00 deposit at this stage and balance in August.
